Who Should Not Take Acyclovir?

You should not take acyclovir if you are allergic to any of the following medications:
 
  • Zovirax, acyclovir, or any inactive components used to make acyclovir. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients.
     
  • Valtrex® (valacyclovir), a similar medication.
