Herpes Zoster Oticus: Prognosis
Generally, the prognosis for people with
herpes zoster
oticus is good. However, in some cases, hearing loss may be permanent. Vertigo may last for days or weeks. Facial paralysis with herpes zoster oticus may be temporary or permanent.
