Qutenza Patch Information

QutenzaTM (capsaicin 8% patch) is a prescription drug licensed for the treatment of nerve pain that occurs after a case of shingles (known medically as postherpetic neuralgia). If you have nerve pain and you are prescribed the Qutenza patch, the drug's safety information should be fully reviewed with your healthcare provider before starting treatment.

While most people do not have any problems while using this patch, Qutenza is not suitable for everyone. For instance, you may not be able to use this medication safely if you have certain medical conditions, such as high blood pressure or heart disease.

There is only one standard recommended dosage for this medicine, regardless of your age or weight. A single, one-hour application of the Qutenza patch can provide pain relief that lasts up to 12 weeks.
