How Should Valacyclovir Be Stored?

Valacyclovir should be stored at room temperature and away from moisture or heat. In addition, valacyclovir caplets should be kept in an airtight container.
 
Keep valacyclovir and all medications out of the reach of children.
 

What Should I Do If I Miss a Dose of Valacyclovir?

If you do not take your valacyclovir as scheduled, take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take a double dose of valacyclovir.
 

Valacyclovir Strengths

Valacyclovir caplets are available in two strengths:
 
  • Valacyclovir 500 mg
  • Valacyclovir 1000 mg (valacyclovir 1 gram).
     
There is currently no over-the-counter valacyclovir available.
 

Generic Valacyclovir

At this time, no generic valacyclovir is licensed for sale.
